Marisa BUENO

  • Marisa Bueno specializes in Iberian Medieval Studies with a double B.A. in Law and Medieval History (UCM, Madrid) and a PhD in History entitled “Territory and Material Culture in Eastern Castile (8th-12th centuries): From the Middle Frontier to Castilian Extremadura.” In her thesis she focused on the Islamic colonisation process and the subsequent changes after the Castilian conquest. In connection to the UCM, she went on with her research at the C.E.S.C.M. (CNRS-Poitiers University) and the E.H.A.A.R (CSIC, Rome). Marisa is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the RELMIN project where she studies the relations between Christianity and Islam in Castilian area, with special emphasis on issues such as polemics, conversions and the situation of religious minorities under Christian rule through Castilian Laws..
